FICEP 2025 delegates represented Forza FC Philippines at Copa Internacional 2025 in Nerja, finishing 2nd Place out of 8 teams from the regions of Malaga and Granada!
The FICEP players certainly pushed themselves to their limits, challenged by the pace and intelligence of their Spanish counterparts! But they took it one game at time with determination and perseverance—finishing the elimination round with 2 wins and 1 draw to rank second in the group and proceed to the semi-finals to meet the top ranked team of the other group. The draw in regular time of the semis led to an exciting penalty shootout in favor of Forza Philippines and we were then off to the finals!
The championship game was intense with both Forza Philippines and the home team of Nerja taking the lead at various times—-In the end, the Philippine delegation bowed out with a 2-3 loss, but were extremely proud nonetheless of their 1st Runner-Up finish! The icing on cake was the awarding of our very own homegrown talent Collen Siegel named as the MVP of the tournament!
The program is far from over but the day spent battling it out with these amazing teams from the South of Spain will be a day we will forever remember!
