Long before we had founded Futbol Funatics in 2003, we had always dreamed of establishing our very own football school—one in which we could provide players a football experience that would impact their lives in the same way ours did for us.
As graduates of De La Salle University in Manila and as former members of the University’s varsity team, we felt that football had played a big part in teaching us values that have been essential in countless endeavors, both education and career- wise. With our desire to provide a meaningful football encounter for kids, we were determined to channel our love for football into becoming educators of the sport. We set out to develop a football program that was fun and dynamic, yet offered proper instruction of technique and tactics. We designed it as such to teach the program in an age-appropriate manner, while simultaneously catering to children of different characteristics and skill levels. With all these in place, Futbol Funatics was born.
We launched the first Futbol Funatics camp in September of 2003 at Cuenca Park, Ayala Alabang, with only 8 students, and soon after we opened in Tahanan Village Park- Paranaque as well as several schools in the Paranaque area. By 2005, we had branched out to the north and opened our camp at Meralco Center-Pasig, pursuing the football school full-time and engaging in numerous coaching workshops here and abroad to further our knowledge. Simultaneously, we furthered our studies and pursued the completion of our educational degrees in the Teachers’ Certificate Program (TCP), and became licensed professional teachers in 2006. We felt that apart from attending coaching workshops specifically for football, it was important to also be knowledgeable teachers, understanding child psychology and appropriate motivational techniques and tools used for children of all ages. For the type of football program we had created, we knew our credibility as coaches would not rest solely on our football background but would also be dependent on our ability to effectively pass on our knowledge to the next generation of footballers.
To date, Futbol Funatics has proudly expanded our year-round program presence to 6 major locations in Metro Manila, specifically Paranaque, Alabang, Taguig, Cavite, Pasig and Makati. Through the years it has serviced notable schools such as Everest Academy-Fort, The Bridge School-Paranaque, Good Start School -Quezon City, Elizabeth Seton School-Las Pinas, Elizabeth Seton School-Cavite, Preppi International School-Pasig, Cambridge QC and Pasig, Kindercare-BF Homes, Prepcamp-BF Homes and Optimal Academy-Alabang. We currently lead a team of 20 dedicated coaches who are not only trained to be efficient instructors but who also bear the knowledge and communication expertise to carry out the Futbol Funatics program. We are all honored to be working together to make a difference in the lives of our 600 students who are between the ages of 3 to 17 years old.
Throughout the years, we have also branched out to offer a full party planning service for soccer birthdays and theme parties, company team buildings & corporate events and adult football & futsal workshops. Futbol Funatics also produces a unique line of football gear such as backyard goals and soccer apparel. In 2010 we launched the FFAST Program—Futbol Funatics’ Advanced Supplementary Training Program which is a selection team program designed for the Futbol Funatics players who exhibit a high skill level. In 2012 we launched FICEP—Futbol Funatics’ Immersion and Cultural Exchange Program which is an international football program wherein Futbol Funatics players are invited to engage in training under Spanish coaches and tournaments in the Andalucian region of Spain. You can read more about the FFAST and FICEP program on our website.
We look forward to training with your children at our soccer camps and are grateful for the opportunity you give us to play a part in your child’s development in football. We will continue to provide a venue for them to hone their love and expertise in the sport, while creating a healthy and memorable football experience for them.
